Do to Everette Moates, still being alive, he lives in Hollins Alabama with his second wife. He is 86 years old, I have allot of info. from him, on who is who. Back then the census had people go around an take info down, so some knew how to spell and misspell names allot. I like doing research so it is noting to me to seek info anywhere. This family started up in upper alabama around in Brimingham Ala. area, and moved downed southeast. But before Alabama, this family came from North Carolina and South Carolina. I found a manifest from a ship from South Carolina and they moved to North Carolina and into Georiga and then to Alabama area. I have all the names of Cary's and Cabe's brothers and sisters names's who they wed and some childrens names. But I could not find who Cabe married. I looked at Census and found nothing on him. I thought maybe he moved out of Alabama. I found him with his mom who was added to his Census one year, but that was! all. We live in Penscola Florida, Gary Dean Moates is Everette's son, who everyone calls him by Rusty. Cary who a tall man where Cabe was short. I have seen pictures of the family showing this. My father in laws name was changed when he got out, by mistake. Not by him, but the government. When is was discharged from the Navy. He did not have the money for the legal change to correct it. If u would like to join the cost will be $10.00 per person for one year. after everyone has joined then we will elect officers. so come on out and join and help build the Genealogy society. i have already payed for all the Paper work to get the Society started. just need people to join and officers to be elected. at the first meeting on March-18-2012 21 people came out for the free class. i was very happy to see that many people interested. I will be giving a free Genealogy Class on April-29-2012 at the Maplesville Library from 2-4pm come on out and join us and start building your family tree. All you need to bring is paper and pin.
