Her father's last name was "Fox" and her mother was listed as E. B. Farley. Elvira's birth year was estimated as 1849 and her date of death was 10 Oct 1935 in Chilton Co., AL and buried in Pine Hill Cemetery. This seems to agree with other information for her. On the 1850 census for Shelby County, AL there is a family of Rufus Fox with wife of Agnes and several children one of which is Alvira. In 1860 this family was living in Autauga Co., AL. Rufus is 45 and Agnes is 46. Elvira is 12 yrs old. On RootsWeb there is a posting for Rufus Ellis Fox born 1815 NC with parents of George Fox and Christine Eversall. Rufus Fox married Agnis Farley 11 Nov 1841 in Shelby Co., AL. They have 9 children with Harriet Elvira Fox born ca 1846. Agnes Farley's parents were listed as Matthew and Priscilla Farley. Hope this helps. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. He was born December 11, 1907 and died January 27, 1978 and is buried in Martin Memorial Cemetery in Clanton, Alabama. He owned three movie theaters, two in Clanton and one in Maplesville. He owned several airplanes and he, his wife and all his children were licensed pilots. His children all were licensed pilots before they were licensed to drive. He had several children one of which was a classmate of mine named Minnie Wade who graduated with me from Chilton County High School in 1959. She had at least two sister but the only name I can recall was Janie Wade who was married to Lally Bates and there were two brothers; Buddy and Cecil. Buddy operated a flying service and was also a flight instructor at the local airport after his father Charles died. I know Minnie and Janie are both dead but do not know about the other siblings. There was a James "Jim" Quitman Wade who was a successful! businessman in Clanton which I wonder might have been a son of John Quitman Wade. John Quitman Wade and his wife Belle H. Wade are buried buried in Cedar Grove Methodist cemetery near Thorsby, Alabama which is just north of Clanton. According to their grave markers he was born August 06, 1868 and died August 26, 1939 and she was born April 01, 1868 and died August 30, 1961. I hope this is helpful and the persons you were looking for but I do not at present know of any family contacts to help you. Robert Stripling born 1815 and died on March 15, 1881 and his wife Mrs. H.E. Stripling born January 24, 1850 and died October 14, 1935 are buried in Pine Hill Cemetery near Jemison, Alabama. As for an obituary it is doubtful that one was published that early on as in my experience researching family in Chilton County there wed only published for mostly the elite families. Also you might find some information from a lady who is managing a memorial for him on a web site www.findagrave.com. If you are a member of this web site which is free but requires you to register in order to contact the member who is managing his memorial. You can then search for his memorial by entering his name or the memorial number assigned to his memorial which is 55243037. Hope this is helpful.
