    2. John K. Brown, Jr.
    3. There was an error in this month's newsletter from the Heritage of Alabama folks. The deadline for Autauga County is August 31st rather than October 31st. You still have plenty of time to send in your stories. For family stories, if your family came to Autauga before 1890 you can submit up to 1,000 words and two photos FREE. If they came after 1890 you can submit up to 500 words and one photo FREE. That is words per story, not words per submitter. You can submit more than one story at no charge. Words beyond the 500 or 1000 limits are 15 cents each. These are your family stories in your own words. These stories will NOT be edited by the committee unless they do harm to someone. Please send in your special memories of life in Autauga county. We also need stories on county history, churches, schools, and businesses. Stories of 250 words or less are FREE. This is your change to have your family story published at no cost to you. All books are hardbound and printed on high quality, archival paper that will last a lifetime. You are under no obigation to purchase a book in order to submit a story. John Brown Chairman Autauga Heritage Book Committee ----------- John K. 1. Autauga/Chilton Dennis families
    2. David Dennis
    3. Hi everyone. I've been working on an article for the Chilton Co. Heritage book and I've run across a question maybe someone can help me with. It concern's my G-grandfather Aaron Dennis, a son of Jesse Dennis both of Autauga/Chilton Co.,Al. Perhaps somone who has Mrytle Tucker Aldridge's info can help as I don't have it and she seems to be the main source of middle names for this family. I have a few references to an A. B. Dennis that appear to be my Aaron Dennis but I don't have any proof that he even had a middle name. An A. B. Dennis from the area tried to join the CSA it seems but got sick and was hospitalized almost immediately. He was discharged for what appears to read "lack of muscular developement." Aaron would have been 14 and several of his brothers and cousins joined at the same time and place so I think it could be him. An A. B. Dennis joined Bethel Primitive Baptist Church by experience on Nov. 8, 1873 and Aarons wife joined on May 8, 1875 after they married the previous Dec. This church was attended by the family for several generations and his parents and many bro. and sis are also listed as members. I would love any thing that would connect A. B. Dennis to Aaron Dennis. Thanks. -- David Dennis dddennis@concentric.net, Chilton Co.,Al,UsGenWeb http://www.concentric.net/~Dddennis/chilton.htm Lincoln Co,Ga, UsGenWeb,http://www.rootsweb.com/~galincol/index.html listowner for ALCHILTO-L mailing list for Chilton CO., AL listowner for SWORDS-L mailing list, GALINCOL-L, Lincoln Co.,GA
