    1. Goodgame/Rasberry marriages
    2. Hi everyone. This list has been so quiet lately. I'm looking for a marriage record for the following couple. John Goodgame b. 27 June 1801, d. 22 May 1889 and Sarah Rasberry b. 14 June 1804, d. 17 Sept. 1889 I've seen it shown as 1822 in Bibb Co. but I can't find it on the transcription on the Bibb County page. I admit I haven't looked at the microfilm or the courthouse's for this. It would have likely occured in one of the counties that became Chilton most likely Bibb. I don't have access to Baptists of Bibb, it might have been mentioned in it as they where active in the Mulberry community. Thanks, David Dennis David Dennis, Proud Roosweb Donor

    1. Murrah/Bean
    2. Hi again. Does anyone have any info on this couple? Coosa Co. Marriage Book "B" p. 61 Murray (Murrah?) Wm. and Nancy Ann Amanda Bean, 16 Aug. 1849, 16 Aug. 1849 They seem to be a possible match for the parents of my William P. Murrah of Chilton Co. His parents left for Texas with the children sometime after 1860 and died in Miss. William and several of the other children returned to the Collins Chapel area. If their mother was a Bean that could explain why they came back to that area. Thanks, David Dennis David Dennis, Proud Roosweb Donor

    2. Dwight David Dennis
    3. The 1880 census now has Beat 2 and 8 added to the Beat 1 that was already online. Beat 4 is over 1/2 done and will follow soon I hope. Many thanks to Christine Bonoyer <Twisel@bellsouth.net> for the transcribing and to Jim and Donna Nix for the proofreading. These have just gone online and are not listed on the GenWeb Archives or the UsGenWeb Census Project but they will be as soon as the volunters there get the links up. Since I manage the archive's for the county I can notify this list asap. Having done the final proofreading myself from silver halide copies of the NARA film I can say that there are MANY errors or questionable enteries and that you should use these as an index and check the ordiginals, from the film if at all possible. Everyone did a wonderful job on this one but there is no way to get everything right from a copy and the ordiginal film is much better. The transcriptions are availible at ftp://ftp.rootsweb.com/pub/usgenweb/al/chilton/census/1880/ -- David Dennis, Proud Rootsweb Donor, dddennis@concentric.net, Chilton Co.,Al,UsGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~alchilto/chilton.htm Lincoln Co,Ga, UsGenWeb,http://www.rootsweb.com/~galincol/index.html listowner for ALCHILTO-L for Chilton CO., AL and GALINCOL-L, Lincoln Co.,GA,SWORDS-L mailing list,

They raised a large family there. I have determined that they were probably the sons of an Elijah S. Wyatt , a Baptist preacher who started a church in Pike Co, AL in 1830. They were supposed to have been from SC. Evidently, they moved to Jasper Co, GA prior to the move to Al because Bucky and Mariam were married in Jasper Co, Ga on Nov 19, 1815. Any help on this family would be appreciated. Cal Campbell Reply to CalCampbell@Prodigy.net ------- FORWARD, End of original message -------

    1. 1880 Census
    2. David Dennis
    3. Hi everyone. I've made promises about this census all year but it is finally coming together. Beat 1 is online and Beat 2 will be going to the person who converts it to plain text from the Excel .xls format early next week. Beat 8 is being proofread and Beat 4 will be ready sometme soon for proofreading. Next week almost certainly. That should be about half of this census. Because the 1880 and 1920 are the only censuses that are not indexed or fully soundexed it should be helpful as a search tool. I will be devoting my time to the Beat 5 which is too illegible to transcribe from photocopies and the beat 7 which is almost as bad. Several volunters for beat 3 have not been heard from. Hopefully they are alright but I am looking for new volunters to transcribe that one. I can provde copies for them to work from. Any help would be appreciated as I didn't realize how difficult this would be. The next project for this county may deal with the death certificates. -- David Dennis, Proud Rootsweb Donor, dddennis@concentric.net, Chilton Co.,Al,UsGenWeb http://www.rootsweb.com/~alchilto/chilton.htm Lincoln Co,Ga, UsGenWeb,http://www.rootsweb.com/~galincol/index.html listowner for ALCHILTO-L for Chilton CO., AL and GALINCOL-L, Lincoln Co.,GA,SWORDS-L mailing list,
