    3. Dear Researchers: My computer got a virus and I had to delete some infected files and completely re-install Windows 98. In the process, I might have lost some information. If you sent me a link to your Alabama genealogy personal page or any other Alabama URL's, would you check to see if they are on my website and if not, please re-send them to me? 3. Anita, I am not sure whether I have written to you before but I am related to the Abney family in Chilton County. My grandmother was Mae Abney Brown, wife of Francis H. Brown of Maplesville. Her father was Samuel Abney IV, son of Thomas Hamilton Abney of Maplesville. T. H. Abney descends from the Abney's of Edgefield District, SC. Any connection? I suspect the Dr. Johnson to whom you refer is Wayne Johnson, though I've not yet met him. I got the information about Jacob and Lizzie from Ken Tyler, who is president of the reunion. I established my connection to Lizzie from a Culver relative I "bumped into" via the Internet in my searching. I have a photo (digital only, no paper) of their headstone at New Hope Baptist Church cemetery, which is where a number of my Wingard, Culver, and Jackson relatives and ancestors are buried. If you'd like me to send you the photo via email (it's about a 28K JPEG file), let me know off-list and I'll send it to you. If you're interested in private access to what I have on Wingards, Culvers, and more, I can arrange that also. = Steve = -- Steve W. Lillie Belle's name has appeared quite prominently in my research over this past summer, as I've been looking into the roots of my Culver line, and her mother Lizzie was a Culver. What's more, her father Jacob Arant was the son of my GGG-Aunt Joanna Wingard, so Lillie and I would be some sort of "double cousins" (if that's a valid term). You too appear in my file as a 4th cousin. I'm sorry that I never had occasion to meet her, as she sounds like a fine lady that anyone would've been proud to know. In this season of Thanksgiving, we can all be thankful for the positive impact of people like Lillie on our lives and hope that it will ease the burden somewhat. = Steve = -- Steve W. 2. This is ridiculous! If everyone spent half as much time promoting positive thoughts instead of beating to death negative ones, this country would be much better off. A mistake was made, the perpetrator acknowledged it. Let us move on. If anyone has an issue with any posting on this board, take it up with the board moderator and work to have an acceptable outcome on that front. But most of all, do NOT continue to post broadcast messages about the veracity of the original message. All that succeeds in doing is dragging the responder down to the level of the original posting. I realize that I am doing the very thing I have just described. Do not bother to respond as I will not perpetuate this behavior past this message. Thank you. Steven Schullo

    3. I have apologized numerous times but have no problem doing so again to you personally, Ms. Sandra Lewis. I thought I was making a PERSONAL appeal and did not know it was being broadcast to a bulletin board. I too am a genealogy enthusiast and did not mean to use the site for political commentary. It was a human error - perhaps similar in some ways to confusion over the "butterfly ballot."
