    3. I know that you have this spellin a Miears, but I have it spelled Myers. I know this is incidental, but I also have Thomas and Martha buried in Chestnut Creek Church Cemetery. I have her father and mother buried in the Moore Cemetery in Chilton Co. ----- Original Message ----- From: <DBGlenn@gmail.com> To: <ALCHILTO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Saturday, July 02, 2005 9:10 AM Subject: [ALCHILTO] Re: Miears Buried in Chestnut Creek Cemetery > This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. > > Classification: Query > > Message Board URL: > > http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HS.2ADI/1151.2.1 > > Message Board Post: > > Not my my immediate ancestry so I might be out of line here. However, these were members of my home community. It it believed that Martha Popwell Miears died about 1864 due to a fever (typhoid?) and is believed to be buried at Chestnut. It is thought that Thomas Miears and Martha Popwell may have had 5 children. After Martha Popwell's death, it is believed that Thomas Miears remarried on February 09, 1865 in old Autauga County to Mary Frances Ann Baxley that is believed that Frances had been married to a Lewis Jackson Morris that had also recently lost his life as well. Then it is thought that Thomas Miears and Frances Baxley went to east AL, then TN and on to the Woodland TX and Sevier County AR area. I know I have seen Thomas Miears and wife Frances in the 1910 Clear Creek, Sevier County, AR Census while looking for other folk of this area. It appears that many of their children took the spelling of the surname as Myers. So Frances Baxley Miears must have died! sometimes after 1910 and it is believed that Thomas Miears died in 1923 and is buried at the Nunley Cemetery in Mena, Polk County, AR. Didn't mean to butt in. Research and check this out to your own satisfaction, I really just wanted to say that I don't think that Thomas Miears is buried at Chestnut Creek, but rather in Polk County AR. Surnames: HUDSON, BLACKSTONE, ABERNATHY, PARKER, MOSELEY Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/HS.2ADI/856.1.2.2 Message Board Post: Hi Ryan, The good news is that I recognize these names, and the bad news is that I don't have the answers you seek. If we compare notes, however, I think we will both benefit. I knew that Samuel Rice Hudson had a daughter Nevada, but I did not know that he had a sister Nevada. His daughter Nevada (pronounced nee-VAH-duh; VAH rhymes with Bay and Way) married my daddy's oldest brother: Robert Boyd Abernathy (1877-1960). Her middle name was Winston (Nevada Winston Hudson Abernathy). Samuel Rice Hudson had a daughter named Mary George Hudson; I did not know that he had a sister named Mary, too. Samuel Rice Hudson had a son Frank Hudson who was a life-long friend of my father (Thomas Nelson Abernathy b 1896). They lived at or near Mountain Creek in Chilton Co. AL and they walked to school at Marbury in Autauga Co. AL (just over the county line) in the very early 1900's. Frank's sister Mary George Hudson was a school-mate of theirs as well. I would very much like to know which Mr. Abernathy married Samuel Rice Hudson's sister Mary. Samuel Rice Hudson married Carrie Loney Blackstone. I got this information from my father and from a personal interview with Mary George Hudson Moseley in Montgomery, Alabama, a few years ago, as I recall. Frank Hudson married Gladys Parker. Besides Frank, Nevada, and Mary George, other children of Samuel Rice Hudson were Carey Hudson, Otis Hudson, and Thomas Harris Hudson. Mary Alice Abernathy Meyer
