Is anyone researching these lines in 1850 Perry Co, AL? I'm trying to track a Lucinda BAILEY who married Seaborn FLANEGAN in 1851 and a Martha BAILEY who married Samuel STOCKMAN in 1843. Thanks. ********************************** Please visit Rockett's Genealogy Web selected as a Recommended Site by The History Channel http://www.kayrockett.com and also Rockett's Genealogy Books http://www.kayrockett.com/genbooks.htm. Is anyone researching Capt. John A. MILNER who married Sally COOPER. I don't have their dates, but she was born in Autauga Co in the mid to late 1800's. Mr. MILNER was supposedly a pioneer in the railroad industry in Chilton Co. I would like ANY info on his wife. Thanks!! ********************************** Please visit Rockett's Genealogy Web selected as a Recommended Site by The History Channel http://www.kayrockett.com and also Rockett's Genealogy Books http://www.kayrockett.com/genbooks.htm. I'm from several families in Autauga, which means I probably have connections to everyone!! I go to Peter COOPER and Samantha MONCRIEF, dau of Isaac MONCRIEF and Nancy KICKER. Peter and Samantha's son Alphonzo COOPER married Mary Elizabeth BARBER, dau of Green B. BARBER and Sally GOODGAME. Green's parents were Moses BARBER and Mary WESLEY. Alphonzo COOPER's dau Emma Louisa (named for two of her Moncrief aunts) married Newbern Webster ROCKETT. N. W.'s mother was a MORRIS, and her aunt Martha married Singleton POSEY (the "younger") and Peter COOPER's dau Martha Margaret married Singleton POSEY (the "elder"). Except for the MORRISES and the ROCKETTs, who heavily populated nearby Jefferson Co, AL, all of the above surnames were in Autauga county during the 1800's. One of Samantha Moncrief's sisters married a DENNIS and another married a GRAY. I'm looking for the parents of Peter COOPER, Isaac MONCRIEF, Moses BARBER, and Mary WESLEY. I would also be thrilled to find cousins in these lines and would almost give my right arm for some family photos. I'll repost this every week or so until the list takes off. Do I have any cousins so far? ********************************** Please visit Rockett's Genealogy Web selected as a Recommended Site by The History Channel http://www.kayrockett.com and also Rockett's Genealogy Books http://www.kayrockett.com/genbooks.htm. Hi Kay, I haven't forgotten you but I've had one of those weeks where after many weeks of nothing I've gotten several good leads/contacts and have been going 6 directions at once. I'm sending you a few pages from a book " Kickers of the South" by Ann Kicker Bloomquist. I think you might want to get a copy, she still has some at $35, I'll send you an address with the other. I'm also sending some odds and ends of Moncrief info that might be of interest even though they are a long shot. Every little bit might help, you never know. Hello everyone I'm still very new to both host a mailing list and and a UsGenWeb page (Chilton) so please bear with my mistakes. I recently activated a surname page and Carol Moody the previous owner has updated the old quieries to the quiery page. Since most if not all on this list have queiries posted what this means is that the new search system on UsGenWeb will be able to find your quiery without the searcher knowing what area to search. Hopefully this will create a lot more cantacts for everyone. I hope everyone will be paitent with the list, it will take a while to grow large enough to be really productive. In the mean time it probablly won't generate enough email to be an issue so please stay subscribed. Thanks to all of you and best wishes. Hi all,At the library today I was checking some inconsistances bewteen "Old Cahaba Land Office Records & Military Warrants,by Barefeild" and the Bureau of Land Management database and i realized the book was an excellent source for something I had long wanted; namely clues as to which families may have traveled together to the area. Then I realized that the oldest records most often mentioned the area the person came from as their home.In that case one has to look at the township the land was granted in to determine the AL location but that's a small price for a exact location before AL. I'll be posting some of what I find and have copied the info up to 1822 and will do lookups on request from that. -- Dwight David Dennis,1014 Ski Lodge 3,Birmingham,Al.35209 dddennis@concentric.net,http://www.concentric.net/~Dddennis/surnames.htm Chilton County UsGenWeb page,http://www.concentric.net/~Dddennis/chilton.htm

David and Bruce, the names of Isaac's daughters that I'm close to positive about are: Almeda (m Joseph WILLIAMS), Louisa (m Samuel James DENNIS), Exey Emma (m John GRAY), and Samantha (of course) (m Peter COOPER). Eliza (m Solomon DENNIS) has yet to be proven. [David, do you have the answer to Eliza?] Samantha/Cemantha's son Alphonzo and his wife Mary Elizabeth BARBER (my line) named his many children BEAUTIFULLY for genealogy purposes!! First son was Malbourne P. (died as infant...named for his father Peter); I would LOVE to know where the Malbourne name came from!! Other children's names were Sallie E. (for M. E.'s grandmother Sarah Sallie GOODGAME;the E =could have= stood for Eliza or Elizabeth, being Eliza MONCRIEF....I don't know.), Allie C. (for Almeda and Cemantha?), Emma Louisa (for Exey Emma and Louisa MONCRIEF), Green B. (for Green B. BARBER), Newton Lafayette (for Aphonzo's brothers), James (for M. E.'s brother), etc. *********************************** Please visit Rockett's Genealogy Web recommended by the History Channel http://www.kayrockett.com and also our custom handknit sweater site http://www.ncknitshop.com which is a very new site; affordable sweaters will be featured in the near future, so please check back from time to time, to see what's new!! ************************************

Do you have access to the census for Autauga/Chilton counties? Am trying to find more on M E "Ella" Hicks. born 1864 AL, married 1888 Chilton Co to Thomas G Faulkner. She called him "cousin husband" but we have not located her associated with the other Hicks that married into the Faulkner family.
Is anyone researching BAILEYs who were in the 1830 Perry Co, AL census? I'm looking for info on Joel, John, John G., or Pleasant BAILEY. Also looking for a Joel BAILEY who was in the 1840 Shelby Co. Kay: I believe that the ALCHILTO-List owner David Dwight Dennis's ancestor MONCRIEF, Louisa b: 1822 d: 1914 that married DENNIS, Samuel James b: 1820 d: 1892 would be a sister to Samantha b: 1825 and Eliza b: 1836 but who are the other obliviously missing 5 or 10 siblings? Hi, Elizabeth. We share Rasberrys, and you recently sent me a picture of Rebecca which I have enjoyed immensely. Have you uncovered anything new on the RASBERRYs/GOODGAMEs/etc? There are two Rasberry websites. If you would like the URLs, let me know. One is maintained by Patrick Hogue. One of them shows the connection WAY BACK to Williams/Whitley/Brown. Our Thomas Madison RASBERRY's father or grandfather was John who married Bridgett BROWNE. Are you familiar with that lineage? If anyone else would like to see briefly what this lineage involves, you can visit one of pages at my website: http://www.kayrockett.com/whitleywilliamsbrowne.htm *********************************** Please visit Rockett's Genealogy Web recommended by the History Channel http://www.kayrockett.com and also our custom handknit sweater site http://www.ncknitshop.com ************************************
