Elizabeth Roberson Munroe Clakler was the widow of Colin Munroe of Talladega County (now Clay County). Colin Munroe died about April of 1853. Margaret may not have been born yet. Elizabeth remarried, to Henry Clakler of Shelby County. This information is from the estate records of Colin Munroe. Thanks! DeAnn Monroe Steely

    3. -- [ From: Cal Campbell * EMC.Ver #2.5.3 ] -- William Conquest (Bucky) Wyatt, b. 1796 in SC, lived near Chestnut Creek Baptist Church in Coopers, where he and his wife Mariam Wright are buried. They raised a large family there. I have determined that they were probably the sons of an Elijah S. Wyatt , a Baptist preacher who started a church in Pike Co, AL in 1830. They were supposed to have been from SC. Evidently, they moved to Jasper Co, GA prior to the move to Al because Bucky and Mariam were married in Jasper Co, Ga on Nov 19, 1815. Any help on this family would be appreciated. Cal Campbell

    3. After a brief hiatus, the Alabama Tombstone Project page is fully operational. Please check it out! There are dozens of new cemeteries added since the beginning of summer. If you have a list (or lists) of burials at an Alabama cemetery, please let me know. Everyone with ancestors in Alabama soil would appreciate the information--who knows, you might provide someone's missing link! There's also a link to a recently discovered list of Alabama soldiers killed and buried at Manassas, and another link to the Association of Gravestone Studies, where you'll find information on how to preserve historic cemeteries. 3. I don't know if we are at all related, but my ggggrandfather was Thomas Dupree Binford, b. Feb, 1816 in Madison Co., Ala. I feel like the DUPREE name was, possibly, a surname. Also my ggrandfather's name was WYATT Binford, b. 1867 in Tx.and we find that name quite often in our tree. It just seems odd for those two names to come up in another family, together. I was just wondering if there is a connection? 3. Hi Bobby, No Rebecca Ann MIMS married to Alfred BAKER in my files, but there is a Rebecca MIMS married to George W. CULP. No BAKERs at all. I probably just have not done enough research to add BAKERs to my file. Ha. I think I am related to at least one quarter of the population of Alabama. I am researching in Bibb County the FRANKLINs who appear on 1840,1850,1860 census. Giles FRANKLIN marries Easter Elizabeth HEADLEY and their son Hillison FRANKLIN marries Elizabeth Anne MADDOX. I have limited information about Giles' parents. His mother was Mary and she married John CLAKELY in 1842? I assume her FRANKLIN husband is deceased. She appears on 1850 census with Giles and Mary living with CLAKELY as his wife. There are other FRANKLIN families around the same area and I believe these are brothers. If you know of someone who is researching that area and might have info on these FRANKLINs I would love to share. I have info on Elizabeth Anne MADDOX, my great grand mother. She is decended from RIGGINS/GANT/GRACE. Thanks for the help. 2. PAMELA LONG
    3. Dear cousins and friends: I've started a RootsWeb mail list for researchers of the Popwell Family. If you are interested, here are the instructions to subscribe: 1. Send the command "subscribe" to POPWELL-L-request@rootsweb.com. 2. How to change to digest mode (several postings are combined and sent to you together as a single large message). There are two steps. First, send the command "unsubscribe" to POPWELL-L-request@rootsweb.com to discontinue mail mode. Second, send the command "subscribe" to POPWELL-D-request@rootsweb.com to start receiving digests. 3. How to change to NOMAIL mode. There is no formal NOMAIL mode. All you have to do is follow the directions above and unsubscribe when you want the messages to stop, and then when you want them to start again, simply subscribe again. 4. If you'd like to post a message so everyone on the mailing list receives it, just send it to POPWELL-L@rootsweb.com. It will then be sent on to everyone in both mail and digest mode. You don't need to send it explicitly to both. Y'all take care! Hurricane season only lasts another month! Pamela Hosey Long Mobile, Alabama dpdklong@worldnet.att.net

Her husband is a Vinson; who I hope is related to my family of Vinson's from Chilton County. Since I myself don't know much about my own; I am putting this out to see if any of you have hear of these Vinson's. I am now wondering if there are two different families living in the same place. I understand that my OBEDIAH born 1790 came to Chilton/ Autugua county with two brothers. I do not have the names of these brothers or their families. I hope you can help. Elizabeth wardlow@juno.com Elizabeth: If we aren't related, from what you told me, we should be. I have had so much trouble trying to find our Vinsons. This side of the family is NOTHING like mine. We are very open about our heritage, good or bad, and I think that is why I am able to find so much more on my side. No one seems to know anything about anyone. I have just dug my feet in and just the little bit I have found out about the immediate members is news to my husband. So, I guess it is "none of my business", too. I've just been sitting back here, hoping someone can find us. I hope it's you. Let me know if any of this looks remotely familiar. I know that William (Bill Vinson is buried at Elmwood Cemetery also. Elvis Adam Vinson is buried in a little cemetery in, I guess you would call it, Fairfield, Alabama. Like I said before, there is not much known about the origins of this family. I have been told that they moved here from Tennessee. I don't have any idea where. --------- End forwarded message ---------- ___________________________________________________________________ You don't need to buy Internet access to use free Internet e-mail.
