    1. Review of Cemetery Research
    2. Cartographic Research Lab
    3. Dear Genealogical Enthusiast, The University of Alabama’s Cartographic Research Laboratory is creating an atlas of Alabama cemeteries. The atlas, entitled the Historical Atlas of Alabama, Volume II: Cemetery Locations by County, is scheduled to be complete in the summer of 1999. We would like to know if you would be interested in reviewing the information we have collected thus far for your Alabama county or counties of interest. Obviously local experts on cemeteries are of great importance to the creation of a complete and accurate book. Please email us at cartlab@bama.ua.edu with your postal mailing address as well as the names of the counties if you would like to review our research. We would be happy to send you the information. Please know that this information comes at no obligation, we are simply interested in confirming the completeness and accuracy of our data. To find out more about us, please feel free to visit our new web site at: http://www.as.ua.edu/geography/cart_lab/ Thank you for your consideration, Craig Remington Director, Cartographic Research Lab Department of Geography, University of Alabama

Deadline for the Chilton County Heritage book is fast approaching. I need to get my own in and if you don't have any articles submitted you may want to as well. See the webpage for more details. The 1880 transcription project is off to a great start. I have so many volunteers I'm having a hard time getting off copies to all of them. I will have copies in hand before I start another one. Beat 1 is almost finished and will be online next month hopefully. I hope to put all the census info online within the next few years and start on other info such as the federal land records. If anyone has records of any type of interest to Chilton or surronding counties you'd like to post please contact myself or Lygia Cutts <Cuttstree@net1inc.net> the Al Archives Coordinator. 1. Re: Reunion
    2. I am researching Roberson; Robinson; Robertson; Robison; Rawlingson; and more. I have located my Rawlinson names spelled 27 different ways. I have ALL such spellings in Chilton; Autauga; and surounding counties. Don't have them all as yet in the computer, but I do have them recorded from the Courthouses. Hope to get them into the computer soon, for I have much data from courthouse; cemetery; personal visits; Bibles, etc not ever posted anyplace. I used to travel with 15 plastic tote bags of steno pads, notebooks, scraps of paper, etc. and when I had the notes in hand could not locate the family chart to put it on. Hope to do better in the new year. I have been working on genealogy for 29 years, so I do have lots of data on three diffenert databases that interwinds. Naomi

    3. Barbara I didn't mean that you had done anything wrong, I was lookig at the information in Ancestry.Com and I noticed that he had our James Grace as being born in 1777 and he was born in 1769 and died in 1859 , when you get anything off the internet that has already been there the only way you know if there is something someone may have entered in error is if they are on your line and then you have pretty much searched it out. When I get to pulling out all my files I will compare them and we will get together on it , I hope you didn't think I was being tacky, I just noticed the same dats of birth on the sheet that list John Grace amd his children in the FTM you forwared to me, but on the sheets you sent (19) they seem to be right so I may be just lost...... Again I hope I didn't upset you and I will get back to you with on this......... Cousin in Alabama, I went to Texas one time when I was 13, Oh the reason the answer is on this I deleted the other by accident.... 2. No I haven't a Robert, but I am not really strong on Atkinsons after 1850. There were lots of Atkinsons in Bibb Co. Al in the 1830's , 40's and 50's. Perhaps your Robt is there. You need to find out when and from what county Shelby was created. They could have not moved but the county name was different. Good luck, Maryellen

    3. You are invited to attend our Old Autauga Family Reunion, 24 April 1999, 9 AM - 2 PM, First United Methodist Church, Prattville, AL. This will be the opening event for our week long Daniel Pratt Celebration. Swap genealogy of your ancestors who had connections to Old Autauga County. Before about 1870 Autauga County included the western half of present day Elmore County and the Southern half of present day Chilton County. This will be a great chance to discuss your research, swap information, and meet new cousin, and just have fun! Please let us know if you plan to attend so that we know how many people to expect. Everyone is also encouraged to send copies of family group sheets and ancestor charts so that they will be available for attendees. Copy machines will be available. After the reunion all donated materials will be placed in the Autauga Heritage Museum vertical files. For more information or to RSVP E-mail me or write: Autauga Genealogical Society, P. O.
