Cherokee is not in Cherokee County. The Seahorns mostly lived around Cherokee, though some of them did live in Etowah County at times. Etowah County is adjacent to Cherokee County, so it's possible that your search should include Cherokee County, but more likely that it should be in Cherokee, the town.
