Regarding the lookup on Parris Adams and George and Emma Collins, your correspondent seems to have a made a mistake since these families are not located together on any census in Cherokee County AL, nor apparently anywhere else in Alabama. I checked censuses from 1870 to 1930, Parris Adams appears in Cherokee County in 1880 and 1900, but without any Collins in his household.
