I have a Francis Marion Smith who was born in 1849 Cherokee Co, AL, his parents were Alan Smith b 1824 SC and Mahalia b 1824 SC, one brother John, who was about a year older than M F, some say annother brother Ollie, and one brother who made it to AR with MF, he was Milton Smith about 6 years younger than M F b ca 1854 or 55. They ran away from home because of a mean step mother.
