I've been confused by the Cherokee censuses. When it listed Waterloo, I thought that was the town up by Pickwick Dam ... Where is Waterloo in Cherokee County? I'm just down in Coweta County, Georgia, and had no idea I was so close ... Road Trip! But first, I need to know where I'm going, so would love some info on just where is Waterloo? lol My grandfather was Arthur Lee Bullen, son of John Columbus in Oliver Springs, TN. I found on the census for 1900 that Granddaddy and his brother lived in Waterloo at that time. His brother was William T. Bullen, who was married to Alice Kennedy. I found that her father was a brother to Frances Dorothy Josephine Kennedy Bullen, wife of Samuel Jefferson Bullen, son of William Carroll Bullen and Elleanor. William Carroll was a son of Isaac Bullen back in Roane County, Tennessee, and older brother of John Columbus Bullen. I've read a wonderful story online about Wiiliam Carroll and his wife and a trip he had to take to bring her back to Alabama from up north, and that their surviving son was a twin. Does anyone have any information on why William Carroll moved down to Cherokee from Roane County in the first place? Thanks for reading, Trish Bullen Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
