My direct line is not Nichols, but the Doss family of early Jackson Co., GA. One of the contemporary marriages in that county with my John P. Doss to Nancy W. Beauchamp is that of Milly Doss to Archibald Nicholds, 6 May 1814. I think they were in Henry Co., GA, 1830, next door to Levi Beauchamp who was thought to be my Nancy's brother. By 1840 Archibald Nichols has moved to Cherokee Co., AL, enumerated next to T. C. Nichols (son?). I'm not actively researching the Nichols bunch, but wouldn't mind filling in more on Milly Doss Nichols. Anyway, thought this would give you a clue (if you haven't found it by now).
