James Sr.'s wife was Easter GREEN. Based on Chattoga County GA Census records from 1850 their children were Jane E, b. @1835, Wm., b. @1842/3, Mary b. @ 1844/45, Nancy b. @ 1847 James Jr. b.1849/50 and it also listed a Mary GREEN age 70. Cherokee County AL census for 1860 shows William H., Nancy, James Jr. and Thomas C. b. @1855 and Mary GREEN age 88. The Thomas in that census may be the same one. Names/ages/birth places tended to be different in different census years which is not unusual. James Sr. and Easter as well as 3 of their grandchildren are buried in the Hebron Methodist Cemetery Cherokee County Al. I also believe that there may have been 3 (2 males, 1 female) other children born between 1834 and 1840 based on the 1840 census, but they could have been nephews/nieces as it also showed them living with Mary GREEN who was enumerated just above James Sr. Thomas C. was not li! sted with the family in the 1870 census, but he certainly could have already left the family and married or been living with other relatives. Jane married a Thomas THOMPSON in 1854 and their children were the ones listed in the will. I have information on none of these people except what the will indicated and have been researching for them. Nancy married Charles BELL and had three children, Raymond, Laura and William. Laura's family moved to Texas as did James Jr's family around 1901/2. I believe Raymond and William may have stayed in the Al./Ga area as did Nancy and Charles. James Jr. was married to Mary Martha Josephine "Emma" YANCEY (she used all of these names) in Polk County GA then moved to AL and they had 11 children. Only 6 lived to old age--one died at 18, 5 died between 1 and 5 years of age. These are names to see if they match any of your research: Daisy Pearl, Demley, Maudie, William Salter, Ava Lee, Venice Evert, Ollie Bomar, Exie Ray, James Lester, Ric! hard "Dickey", and Gwin. My grandfather, Venice, never really talked about his parents. I did know all of the living siblings though, but was young and uninterested in ancestors at the time. I hope that this is a connection and we can compare more info. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
