I hit my brick wall with Their father Wm. Thomas Smith. I know that he was born in 1854 even though his marker engraved 1840-1915. Daisy wasn't sure since she placed it long after his death. Wm. was married 2 times. Eveline Henson bef. 1875, then he married Mary Etta Nelson in 1893. He went by Wm in the first marriage with 3 children, Jesse, James, and Will. from the 1900 and up he went by Tom. and Thos. I am 100% sure it's the same person because my mother rememberd her Uncle Jesse and his wife Emmer. I have no record of Wn T death other than the marker and I know that his wife was widow 1920 census. Also he signed his daughter's permission to marry in 1915. Somewhere in there is a piece to my puzzle. Wm T and Etta are burried at the Arrington Church Cemetery. Al. as is his 3 sons and their wives. I have documentation stating he was born in Bartow Co. Ga (Cass). Can't find him there either. Believe it ! or not I've been doing this for 13 years and can't get past Wm. T. on the Smith side for actual documentation of birth or death. Do any of these nemaes sound familiar to you? Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
