Elizabeth Sewell Smith was a sister of my 4th great grandmother Dicey Amanda Sewell Dearman (1825-1850). Elizabeth was born in either North Carolina (probably Moore County?) or Georgia (probably Hall County?). Parents are Isaac & Rebecca Sewell. Isaac can be found on the 1820 Moore Co., NC Census; 1827 Gerrard District in Hall County, GA (1827 Land Lottery); 1830 Hall Cou., GA Census. Sometime between 1838-1840 he moved from Hall Cou. to Cherokee Cou., AL, where he died in Jan 1850 of pneummonia. In her Southern Claim Petition (June 7,1872, Howell's Cross Road, Cherokee Co., AL)Southern Claims Commission)), Rebecca Sewell Odell (2nd husband) named "Elizabeth age about 48" as one of the 18 children she had with husband Isaac Sewell.
