I believe at one time it was part of Cherokee County or maybe Benton. The community was named this because all of the Indian tribes in the NE Alabama and NW Georgia area came to this spot and played games similar to a baseball/soccer(if I remember correctly) combination to settle their disputes without bloodshed.
