Sterling was located about 1/4 mile south of Route 9 midway between Lawrence and Farill (about 5.5 miles east of Cedar Bluff). According to some data I have, the PO was established in 1857, discontinued 1868, reestablished 1876, discontinued in 1893. Hope this helps.
