    3. My father's (Richard BATTLES) line has a tenuous connection to Noel or William. Here's *all* the Battles information we know right now: Ron (me) Richard Battles (b 1917 d 1999 m Catherine Carden 1935) Robert N Battles (b 1893 d unknown m Bessie Ashworth bef 1914) Richard James Battles (b 1866 d unknown m Rosa abt 1888) Franklin Battles (b 1832 d unknown m Sarah) William Battles (b 1780 ) And we also have a Battles research document called "Our Battles Heritage from England to Alabama" that outlines a connection to from our William to William Noel. at: http://www.lightpatch.com/genealogy/etoa/ As the page says, it's unproven, but I plan on contacting the author when I'm back in Mississippi later this year, to see if she has any documentation.
