THIS IS NOT SPAM! We're making history in Carroll County, Georgia and you're invited to be a part of it! With a capacity crowd at its January meeting, the Carroll County Heritage Book Committee voted to move quickly on the new book! Officers have been elected and brochures will be ready at the next meeting; Monday, February 26, 7 PM at the Neva Lomason Library, 710 Rome St., Carrollton. Subsequent meetings this year will be at the Old Carrollton Jr. High School, 118 S. White St. (behind Carrollton Federal) beginning March 26th, 2001, and continuing the last Monday of each month. Everyone with roots in Carroll County is invited to attend the meeting or participate by sending a free 500 word story and picture to be included. We're also opening eligibility to include Haralson County folk whose ancestors were in Carroll County by or before 1856. This includes the parts of Carroll County which are now Haralson County; districts 6, 7 and 8. These are areas near or in Bremen, Buchanan or Tallapoosa, Georgia. Deadline for stories, pictures and book orders is May 5, 2001. The book is destined to be one of the best yet in the prestigious Georgia County Heritage Series.
