Hello, everybody! I'm so happy to report that I have been accepted into the Swedish Colonial Society as a Forefather member through our Bankson ancestor, Anders Bengtsson. This took many years of research to establish the elusive link from our Cherokee County ancestor, James Nicholas Bankson, to his parents Joseph and Hetty Bankson of Baltimore, Maryland. James N. Bankson fought in Baltimore at the Battle of North Point in September 1814 during the War of 1812. After that he came to Tennessee, where he married Margaret Swan in 1819. James N. came to Cherokee County around 1833 from Jefferson County, Tennessee. You can find the ancestry of James N.
