He married my grandmother Sibyllia Sowell in Escambia, FL in 1939. My surname is Sloane so at sometime there was an 'e' added. I only just discovered this today. I discovered the marriage entries through ancestry.com without an 'e' on the end. They mis-transcribed his first name as Jock. My Grt-grandfather's sister was married to William W. Williams who was born in Pickens County, Ala. He moved to Floyd County, Georgia where he died but just recently I got a autograph book that belonged to one of his daughters where cousins wrote in it. There was Toliver Williams from Coloma died Sept 1891 and AO Williams Pope, Al June 1896, after researching census records I found in Cherokee County, Al one Thomas Williams age 29 (1880 census) who had sons age 8 Olivar A., and Tolivar with son James W., age 6 and Almedia Williams age 5. Wife was listed as Mary C. Williams age 28. From other researchers that will not respond this was Benjamin Thomas Williams born 1851 Ala who died 1924 and wife Lela Florence Ray. Benjamin married three time, Mary C., unknown, Wanda M., and then Lela Florence Ray. Said that BEnjamin was the leader for many years at a church named Mt. Springs Methodist Church. Have you any information on this family or any other ! Williams in that area that I may contact? Any help is greatly appreciated.
