Does the custodian of the cemetery have records?? Their two Spinster daughters who are on the 1860 US Census are probably buried nearby. Any help will be appreciated. I'm looking for some feedback on an ancestry website I created for beginners. It's a collection of free ancestry resources and how to use them. My wife convinced me to put this website together. I kept getting questions from people who knew I was doing ancestry research. They wanted to know where to go to get information about their ancestry. So I put this website together: http://sites.google.com/site/FunSimpleFreeAncestry It contains a lot of links to websites that are already in many of the GenWeb County websites. I just put them all together with examples of how to use them. I've been tracking the hits on each page and have removed a couple and added some. I think I have the right balance now. At least people seem to be looking at all of the pages on the website. Please feel free to pass this email onto anyone or any group that may find it useful. Thanks, Dan Smith

Zacharia BROCK married Sara Emiline BECK (b. 1852, d 1920). Their children were William M, Elizabeth V, Rubin (b 1876), and Lucian. These BROCK's all lived in and around Sand Rock, AL (Cherokee County). There are at least two other marriages between BROCK's and BECK's through the years. There are many folks still living in the area who trace back to these families. We have a PEARSON reunion each year on the second Saturday in August in Sand Rock and several BROCK "cousins" attend. I know that there are some BROCK graves in the Sand Rock cemetery, and the library in Centre, AL has a fabulous collection of records for that area. I believe they also have an extensive listing of cemetaries in the area and could perhaps help you locate your family.
