Monday's transcripts are now up. Please take a moment to scan them for new connections. If you find something that connects to you, you can either post a message to that person in the forum (http://forums.about.com/ab-huntsville) or come to next week's chat and see if they show again. We had a good discussion about Civil War ancestors (towards the end of the chat) this week...... http://huntsville.about.com/library/blal032601.htm If you'd like to be notified of future chats, send me an email and I'll add you to the list. Depending on how you are coming into the area, gp to Blanche (either by Al hwy 35 or by Al hwy 273). From Blanche, continue north on 35 and turn right onto county road 103. It shows on the AL DOT map that the road will turn into a dirt road, continue on 103 until it intersects with county road 66. turn left onto 66 and then take the next left onto county road 66E. At the end of this road is the cemetery. If coming from Chatooga Co., GA, take county road 103 into Cherokee County, fork right onto county road 66 and follow previous directions.
Do you have a book of Mrs. Margaret Stewart's called Cherokee County History, Vol. ii, and dealing with officials and government? If not, I have it and will share a few things I found about Riley Cunningham. The only bit about John F. Hogue that I found off the cuff is that he served as Circuit Clerk--as you said--beginning in 1893 (it says here). Riley A. Cunningham was his Dep. which I presume means Deputy. The deadline for information for the Haralson County Cemetery Book is March 31, 2001. You can send it to either Doris Robbins at [email protected] or to the Haralson Co Historical Society at [email protected] The list of cemeteries can be found on our web page at http://www.rootsweb.com/~gahchs/cemeteries.html The sooner we can get these last few cemeteries finished, the sooner we can send the manuscript to the publisher and have the book to sell.
