Loney, Fletcher and Nannell were married on Jan 5, 1908. Their children were William Walton, Janett (married a Hoke West) and Beulah (married a Gaines Prather). Rex
Rex, What date did they marry and did they have a child named Arminta "Mittie"? Thanks! Hi Lucille, I don't think there is any connection with the GA Manns. We've tried to make a connection but have never been able to click. Ours left VA in 1835, to Perry Co.AL for 15 yrs and then on to Texas. Thanks for checking though. Thank you Rex for looking, I guess I will keep on hunting. Thank you again Dorothy
I didn't find reference to either of these two names in the Chambers county cemetery book or the Chambers county marriage book. There were several other Dukes and Olivers mentioned in both books though. Rex
Looking for information on Iliver family that lived in Chambers County before moving to Harris County, Georgia. Coleman P. Oliver and Ella Duke about the year 1890 , I am not for sure of the year. Thank you Dorothy
Thanks Doris Appreciate the info on website. Sandel BRISKEY-L@rootsweb.com Seattle
Only the names in the Summary are listed in the Journal. Don't remember seeing Briskey/Brisky, but I could have overlooked them. You may view the Journal at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/state/diary.html Have had a few people to contact us with additional information on some of the people mentioned. If you have found a relative and would like to add information on the person, just let Karla or Doris know and it will be added. Thanks to everyone that has sent a message. We appreciate your thoughtfulness. Are you looking for ancestors in Northern Georgia, Northeast Alabama or Chattanooga, TN around 1886-87? Karla Jones has submitted a summary of the Journal of John Joseph Pledger Jeans Murphy, written in 1886-87 while serving as a Mormon missionary in the Southern Mission. (GA - AL - TN) The author was born as John Joseph Pledger Jeanes (Jeans), and served in the Confederate Civil War as Jeanes (Jeans). His surname"...was changed to Murphy by an act of legislature after moving to Utah." He died in 1889 in Colonia Juarez, one of the Mormon colonies in Mexico. While the predominate Surnames in the Journal are Chambers, Jeans, Murphy and Pledger, he also mentions, by name, his old friends, soldiers he served with in the Confederate Army and people he met along the way. The summary of the Journal is truly a "Gold Mine" of Genealogical information and can be found at http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/state/diary.html Be sure to leave Karla a "note of appreciation" in her guest book. You may forward this to anyone or any list that you think might be interested. Doris Robbins GA State Host for AHGP Be a volunteer ~ adopt a county today.... http://www.usgennet.org/usa/ga/state/
Looking a little closer, I also have Kings, Landrum, Daniel, Jennings, and Miller in my family database, from 1850's to now. Charles Ezekiel King (father of a multitude of Kings) Carolyn Landrum Curtis "Sam" Jennings that married Charliss Foster Fosters in Chambers and Randolph Counties, AL James Daniel in Troup or Harris County, GA (married Montez Foster) Any little bit helps! Pat
My Blackmon is A. Fletcher Blackmon who married Nannelle Sands in Chambers County. (A. being his first initial). Nannelle was my Aunt. Rex
In the spirit of starting further dialog: I am researching the above mentioned surnames in Chambers Co, AL. Joseph Dewitt "Pomp" Blackmon married Katie Hester King in Harris Co, GA and moved all the family (Alton King Blackmon, Musa Emily Blackmon, John Will Blackmon, James Farley Blackmon, Mark Blackmon, and Flossie Irma Blackmon) to Chambers Co, AL. All of them remained there except for WWI. The Foster names I'm interested in are Jesse, Shepard, Elizabeth, Walter B. and his children. These names are from different time periods. My Katie Hester King who married Joseph Blackmon, had King relatives that lived in Lanett, and I'm interested in them, too. Especially the Mrs. King that ran the King Boarding House. The Millers would be Ernest Evrit Miller (and his parents who are unknown to me), his first wife, Anna or Anne, his second wife Flossie Irma, and all the 5 children of the two marriages. Pat Miller, Pensacola, FL
Trying to find someone who might be related to Dozier family or Briskey in Lanett, AL area. Who might have a picture o the Old Tavern once owned by Dozier and Briskey. Sandel BRISKEY-L@rootsweb.com Seattle Surnames: Briskey,Brisky,Brisque,Demastus,Sutton,Meadows,Hodnett,Moore
