    1. [ALCHAMBE-L] Chambers Co. Records--Microfilmed
    2. Lynda S. Eller
    3. In 1992, Chambers Co. became the 54th county in Alabama to have their early probate records microfilmed by the Genealogical Society of Utah. The Probate Judge agreed to assist with the microfilming project using the probate records including estate, marriages, deeds and wills dating from 1832 through 1927. Most of the records microfilmed are the ones presently stored in a vault inside the Probate Judge's office. Copies of the records microfilmed are available for use at the State Archives in Montgomery, AL and at the Genealogical Society of Utah, Salt Lake City Library for national use. I have not obtained an inventory of the records microfilmed as of yet. I do have a list from Will Book #3 which covers Nov. 20, 1856 to Oct. 12, 1872. It covers the names of the deceased whose wills are recorded. A through B-- Abernathy, Samuel Adams, Joshua Allen, David G. Askew, B.S. Askew, J. Atkins, John Avery, T.J. Allen, Thomas Andrews, Mark Andrews, Milton Bachus, Francis M. Bailey, Jacob Bailey, Prudence Baker, Silas Baker, Thomas Sanford Beall, Thaddeus Beaty, Mary Beaty, James Billingslea, Cyrus Bishop, Ivy Black, Mary Emma Bowling, Fredericks Boyd, John Brooks, Thomas J. Brown, Williams Bullard, Daniel Burton, Jacob

    2. Hi Cliff, I guess now they are in a building across the street. Shame that has to all not be taken care of properly. Everyone should write and have it donated to the historical society. Sandel BRISKEY-L@rootsweb.com Seattle Surnames: Briskey,Brisky, brisque,Demastus,Sutton,Meadows,Hodnett,Moore,McIntosh willing to share and trade also we are starting a Briskey/Brisky archives downloading everything onto cds. My cousin started with 11 cds from things I took down, and we are trying to get others to do the same. And eventually donate a copy of all of it to the historical society for future use by family or researchers. Also setting up the family cemetary which is still there and put it on a 501(c)13 non profit so can try to get some grant money to help take care of and maintain the cemetary. It's in pretty rough shape. We found baby's graves no one knew about too across from the old house, which used to be part of the original road. I enjoyed it there and hope to go next year. Sandel

She downloaded onto 11 cds all the things I took down. And cousin joyce has tons more. And going to let her do it. We are setting the cemetary up on a 501c13 non profit to preserve the cemetary to see if they can get some grant money to help maintain it. Slaves barried there from 1830's. Some 60 family members. Including small children who died of typhoid. Was also told of an indian chief being barried along the creek in back of the homestead trying to find out who. Gets more puzzling.
