Can anyone tell me, if I can get a Chambers Co. Heritage book, and how much they cost? Thank you, Becky Carden
Hello, In the Heritage of Chambers County,AL book page 156-157 there is a Joel and Paulene Moore Harris's Story. (Now I'm related to Moore's). My gr grandmother was Mattie Alice "PUG"Moore who married Nicholas Brisky III. Of Chambers County. 15 children. Joel and Paulena were married August 26,1877, in Chambers County, paulena elizabeth Moore was the daughter of John F MOORE (Father of MY GRANDMOTHER). There are some pictures of family members three or for. Sent by Decendent Debra L Buster 13619 Sablegrove Ln Houston TX 77014 Also on page 157 158 is Micajah Harris (1796-1847) and Samuel R Talley (1850-1926) Born in GA about 1796 Sent in by decedent: Also Thomas M Harris and martha M Almand page 158 and 159 (Very lengethy) Just as the land lotteries and grantss in edarlyh GA offered David Harriss Sr and his sons John, Thomas , William D., David Jr, Tyre and Isham new opportujnities so did the issuance of land grants to settle the new territory of Alabama known as Chambers County. thomas M Harris new opportunities. Wether it was the lingering lure of a gold rush in east-central Alabama in 1835-36, or land grants for service in the Creek Indian discords. Sent in by descendent: Debra L Buster, 13619 Sable Grove LN Houston, TX 77014 (If you'd like I can't afford to send free but if you want to send just enough to cover cost of printing and postage) I'd be happy to copy the three or four pages and front cover and info on the book. It's $60.00 to by it Through Heritage Publishing Company. Is there anything in the book for a Thomas M. Harris SR bo ca 1777 SC, possible wife Susan? Thank you. Dona in KS
Does anyone have any information on a Larkin Bales, or Bayles? He is listed in the 1860 census for Chambers Co. Al. It has he was married to a Susan Reeves. They had a son, John W. Bales, b. 1832. Larkin was born in 1808 in S.C. He is supposedly the brother of my Nancy Bales, born about 1810 in S.C., and she was married to George W. Beaird, and they died in Chambers Co. Al. There was also a sister by the name of Bethan, or Bethina or something like this, and she was married to an Alexander Beaird, brother to my George W. Beaird. There maybe a chance that the father was a Burrell Bales, and he was listed in the 1840 census in Randolph Co. Al. Any and all info on any of these listed above would be greatly appreciated! Thank you, Becky Carden
Sorry! I mixed up my surnames on the last post. Too many folks talking "at" me and my brain was not working correctly. I am researching the "Bishop & Jacobs" connection! "NOT" Davis & Jacobs. The same message applies below: Great Aunt, Mary Lena Jacobs (b: 1890 in Chambers Co., AL, d: ??), married Morgan Emmett Bishop in 1908. The are believed to have had three children: Harold, Annie and Mary. I have found my Great Grandmother, Elizabeth (Sherard/Sherrod) Jacobs, living with Great Uncle Morgan Emmett Bishop and Great Aunt Mary Lena Jacobs Bishop in the U. S. 1930 Federal Census in Little Rock City, Pulaski Co., AR. Mary Lena Jacobs was the sister of my Grandfather, Charles Sherard Jacobs, Sr. I have a family group photo that I think Mary Lena and her family may be in, but I need help identifying. We know that she would visit her brother Charles and his family in LaGrange, Troup Co., GA on a few occasions. Does anyone link up with this family? Can you email me and help with this Bishop family research? Do you have photos, family trees, research, books, or records you can share on this Bishop family? I'm in the process of a book on my Jacobs family and would love to add information about this Davis/Jacobs family link. Thank you for any and all help that you may be able to offer. Hi I wonder if you have any info on Hiram Sims will. Thanks Millie
I see a lot of postings on the list for different wills. Would any one have a copy of the wills for: N. A. Vaughn or W. L. Magbee from that county that are listed in the Chambers County Alabama Wills Recorded in Will Book #3 1855 - 1872. I would greatly appreciate getting a copy of these wills. Perhaps someone can tell me how I might obtain copies of these wills if no one has them. Thanks, Barbara Bgage4911@aol.com

The earliest McGee I have is supposed to have been in Marion County GA or Schley Co. and before that, some say, Bladen County, NC. I have not been very lucky with those surnames. I'm sorry. K.
