    2. Hi, The address is; The Genealogical Society of East Alabama PO Box 2892 Opelika, AL 36803-2892 I believe that they might be still producing the Taproots. You can always try a request it through an interlibrary loan. I thought that I saw a few listed there last time I played with their search engine in the library. Priscilla

    2. Hi Becky, I have the census on Ancestry.com ... what do you need? Nancy Carden? Who were the parents of James the grandson who she signed consent for? Was she living with that family? I printed your email and will see what I can find for you. I'll see what I can find tomorrow. I'm finishing email tonight and off to watch some mindless TV .. Talk to 'ya later, Norma Crawford/McLeod connection ....

    3. Hello, My GGGrandmother, was a Nancy McLeod Carden. She was born, sometime, between 1826, and 1829 in Ga., and she was in Chambers Co. Al. at least by 1880, as she is listed on the 1880 census. She was in Randolph Co. in 1870. I have not been able to find where she is buried, or when she died. I know for sure that she was still alive in 1903, as she signed consent papers for her grandson, James Carden, to be married. Just recently someone sent me info of a Nancy Carden, that died in 1920 in Chambers Co. Al., and I'm trying to verify if this is my Nancy Carden. I'm wondering, if someone could do a look up in the 1910 or 1920 census to see if you see a Nancy Carden listed anywhere in the census. I don't know how to verify, if this is my Nancy Carden. Any suggestions? Thank you for any help you might be able to give me. My Nancy was married to an O.H.R. Carden, but he died during the Civil War. Their children were: Sarah, married a James Taylor in Tallapoosa Co. Al. in 1860 Margarett, married a John Jenks, in Tallapoosa Co. Al. in 1861 Mary Jane Nancy married a Vaschal D.W. Hanson in Tallapoosa Co. in 1873, they were in Chambers Co., in 1880 also. Amanda Norman, married a Kitchens Alexander, married a Mills Owen Hendrix, married Susan Ella Beaird, my GGrandparents Thank you, Becky Carden

    3. Sandel I am so sorry to hear of all the troubles you're having at this time. I do hope your mother will improve and things settle down for you there. I know how you feel about the neighbor having a heart attack as I had the same thing happen to me when I was 16 as I watched a neighbor have a heart attack in the street. Luckily though I called emergency and he did survive but as you said, it's so disgusting how some people act about such things. I vividly remember a few kids laughing about the man drooling and even one adult lady was carrying on about him "wetting" his pants and kept insisting he was just "drunk". People can be so cruel and thoughtless. Kids have never understood about "mortality" and now adays as you said there is no respect there either, it's such a shame. Something like that can really leave you an emotional wreck for a bit so please take care of yourself!! Hope all will get better for you and your mom!! Hope your feeling better. My neighbor had a heart attack in his drive way on the 2nd. I'd just gotten home. It was his 87 birthday. he had had open heart surgery. We'd known them for a long time. Anyway, it's terrible. Kids we're walking home from school making fun of him dying while the parametics we're working on him. I don't know what is wrong with kids these days just no respect is taught. My mom isn't doing great, and we've had heated discussions to the point I'm having to have her doctor step in. Just been an upsetting weekend.
