Hi there Pat, I think something a little eerie happened down at Bethel. Everyone I have told this story to, thinks, its a little strange. As you know, my Lovick P. Jordan and family are buried at Bethel Baptist church. I looked for him, when you were out here, and we visited Bethel Baptist church. I've looked for his grave several times, but had not been able to find it. My family and I went down there a couple of months ago. I had found out the married names of two of his daughters. One married a Swint, and the other married a Cole. I found their graves, and I was looking at a Jordan grave, that had been broken, and my Dad was going to see if he could lift it, but it was too heavy for him. I just had a feeling this one was Lovick P. Jordan, but I was wrong. When I turned around from looking at these graves, in the distance, here came this large, beautiful white dog!! It walked right up to me, and I love dogs, but I was just a bit leery of stray ones. He seemed very gentle, and sweet, and I talked to him, and my Dad talked to him. I then walked over to where my Ellen P. Jordan and her husband Elijah Beaird are buried, and the dog followed right along with me! I was about to give up on finding Lovick Pierce Jordan, and wife, Malinda Ann Freeman Jordan, and was going back to the car, but my dad yelled that there were some more Jordan graves over to the side, by themselves. The dog was still there when he told me this. I went running over to where he was, and it was my Lovick Pierce Jordan, and his wife Melinda Ann Freeman, and their daughter! I was very excited, and was taking pictures of the graves. When I finsihed, I started walking back to the car, and all of a sudden it dawned on me, that the dog was gone! I have no idea where he came from or where he went to! My mother didn't see the dog, but my dad and I did. There is a house right across from the cemetery, so we wondered if the dog, could have come from over there. We went back about a week later, as she wanted to see the dog. We went across to the house, and there was a dog, but it wasn't this white dog, and he appeared to be viscious, so we left. We went back over to the cemetery, but the dog, was no where to be seen! I have been to this cemetery several times, and had never seen this white dog before, and I have a feeling I'll never see it again, as I think he accomplished his mission! Everyone I've told this story to, said, it sounds like that book, "To Dance With The White Dog", by Terry Kay. So, that is my "white dog" story. Again, thank you to Mr. Ficsher for all the photographs. I also have ancestors in the Milltown cemetery. A lot of my Burdette's, and Woodall's, are buried there. I was hoping he would have a shot of Lane's Chapel Methodist church, not far from Antioch Christian church. I'd just like to thank Mr. William Fischer Jr., for sending in all these wonderful pictures! I have Anglin, Stephens, Gross, and maybe some others buried in the Mt. Pisgah cemetery. Antioch Christian church is where my Grandparents, Escar, and Felicia Carden went to church and where my Dad went, and where I have gone many times, when visiting them! My Owen Hendrix Carden, and his wife, Susan Ella Beaird Carden are buried there. My Grandparents grave, I believe is the peach colored monument, in the bottom left hand side of this photograph. My dad says, that tree is at least 80 years old! I have a lot of ancestors buried in this cemetery. My Jordan, and Beaird ancestors, are buried in the Bethel Baptist church cemetery. I think this is such a pretty church, and I have a story that happened down there a few months ago, if anyone would like to hear about it! I also enjoyed the pictures from LaFayette, as I lived there when I was in the fourth grade, and went to the First Baptist church. Thank you again for taking the time to take all these great photographs, and sharing them with us! Becky Carden
