Hello, In my researching my gr gr gr grandfather Briskey/Brisky. I obtained a copy of a book of heritage of Chambers County, AL. You maybe able to obtain a copy to look at through your inner library loan dept at your local library. Wyatt's are listed on several pages connected with other families. Some in Churchs. I found that many of these families migrated about the same time my gr gr gr grandfather did. Around 1830's many went to GA around Troup or Harris County (That region changed county lines several times) and onto Chambers County, AL or other areas of Alabama. (Which I believe was also part of Florida at one time). It's interesting I went to reunion there last year and loved it we found a lot too at the old court house in Lafayette, AL. They have a store room we found out across the street with boxes of old 1800's estate papers etc for many families. Some getting petty illegeible to read. But LDS Church was going to come and microfilm them. I wish you good luck. I keep running into a lot of brick walls. Because mine was such a hudge family of three generations and two of those with 13-15 children, and slaves. Also might check through LDS Church near you and also Valley Library at Valley, AL. Thanks for the names of the William CLANAHAN children, Glenda. If anything turns up concerning a relationship between William and Robert CLANAHAN, I'll be sure to let you know about it. Hi, Glenda-- I asked about your William CLANAHAN's parents because there is an outside chance that he might be the son of my Robert CLANAHAN. It is also possible that my Robert CLANAHAN was the son of another Robert CLANAHAN of York County, SC, who had a son named William. That Robert was married to an Anna BROWN and was born about 1755--probably in England. Right now this is all just wishful thinking, but it is possible, since there are two older sons listed for my Robert CLANAHAN in Chambers County on the 1840 census. I am wondering if one of them might have been your William. The ages would be just about right. Do you have the names of your William H. CLANAHAN's children? In response to Delilah Evans' information (below): It is my understanding that George Vernon (my husband's ggg-grandfather) was first married to a "Sarah," who was the mother of his nine children. Then, at the age of 60, he married Rebecca Tever (below), who was about 49. George M. Vernon was George McHuse (or McHugh) Vernon, son of George Vernon and brother of Rosilla Vernon. He died in the Civil War. Both of his marriages (Mary N. Tucker and Amy Calloway Singleton) are listed below. John Vernon, who married Frances Frederick (below), was probably the son of Ebenezer Vernon, Rosilla's brother. John A. Ratchford married Mary C. Wyatt (below). Mary is the daughter of Moses Wyatt and his first wife, Catherine George. Moses' second wife was Mary Lavinia Vernon, sister of Rosilla Vernon (Clanahan). This could really get confusing! Thank you for sharing this info. Hi Folks, I am interested in trading information with anyone about this Louranna Wyatt. I have pretty good reason to believe that she is related to my William H. MOORE and/or my Hardy JONES. I also believe Louranna must be somehow related to Philip H. Greene. Interested parties may contact me on this list, or in private. I think I can provide some useful information regarding some land transactions, etc. Cheers, Gregg >Glenda, or anyone else, > >Do you recognize or have in your database any of the following family? >This has been my brickwall in identifying who Louranna's husband is and her >maiden name. > >Thanks, >Bill Ikerd >Emporia, KS > >First Generation > >1. In response to Delilah Evans, This is the info I have about Rosilla Clanahan's second marriage: (1) According to Morma Money on Tallapoosa Co, AL Query Forum: Willis C. Shipp married Celeta E. George on Nov. 17, 1834 in Jasper Co, GA. Celeta died in 1858, and Willis married Rosilla A. Clanahan, widow of William Clanahan of Dadeville, Tallapoosa Co, AL. Willis and Rosilla Shipp had two children, Virginia and Walter. Willis died in 1862. Thank you for the marriage info for Josephine Clanahan. I have in my files that she is the daughter of William H. and Rosilla Clanahan and that she was born Apr. 12, 1849 in Chambers Co, AL.
