    2. Bettye - Here is additional information re your Jackson search from Chambers County, AL. Thanks for sending the info on John Horace Pruitt, Sr. What a tragic death for him. I have already updated all the info you sent and am now at 439 pages. As I have time, I am adding more info to be consistent throughout the LineAge. It just takes lots of time and I am not nearly finished with checking it all out and adding to for it to be consistent throughout. BUT it is definitely getting there. 2. Hello, I'm also researching my gr gr gr grandfather Nicholas Briskey/Brisky in Chambers. I have a copy of The Heritage of Chambers county,AL book by Heritage Publishing Co. And in the index of this book there are Jacksons, many pages, probably connected to marriages and church and schools. It might be worth a trip to your local library and ask them if they can obtain a copy of the book through inner library loan dept. Valley Library in Valley AL is also home of the Historical Society for that area. I wish I could have spent more time there. Good contact also. 3. Howdy, I am new to this list, so will post who I am most interested in finding. Recently, I discovered who my 3rd gr grandparents are/were. William Jackson, was born in 1797 - 1798 in North Carolina, according to a census in Texas, which his son, Cleton was in. Cleton is my gr gr grandfather. But here is William Jackson, Sr.'s family: Descendants of William Jackson 1 William Jackson b: 1798 in North Carolina . +Mary b: Abt. 1811 in Alabama ....... 2 Cleton Jackson b: 1832 in Possibly Chambers County, Alabama ........... +Sarah Ann Keith b: April 01, 1827 in Butler County, Alabama m: November 24, 1853 in Butler County, Alabama d: July 02, 1908 in Butler County, Alabama Father: Silas Keith Mother: Pheby ....... *2nd Wife of Cleton Jackson: ........... +Sarah Martha Morgan b: 1836 in Georgia m: May 10, 1860 in Jasper County, Texas Father: John Morgan Mother: Hannah Kelley ....... 2 Ann Jackson b: 1835 ....... 2 Emeline "Emelia" Frances Jackson b: December 09, 1837 in Chambers County, Alabama Burial: Estes School Cemetery in Rockport, Aransas County, Texas. ........... +Joseph Addison Barber b: October 27, 1824 in Opelousas, St. Landry's Parish, Louisiana d: February 28, 1920 in Tivoli, Refugio, Mont Belvieu Texas Father: Samuel B. Barber Mother: Elizabeth "Betsy" Barrow Burial: Refugio, Mont Belvieu Texas Census: 1870 US Federal Census of West Liberty, West Liberty County, Texas, (now Dayton County) - Taken 1870, Wharton Branch, enumerator ....... 2 Martha Jackson b: 1839 ....... 2 Catharine Jackson b: 1841 ....... 2 William Jackson b: 1847 in Alabama? You will notice that Emeline Frances Jackson, the daughter of William, Sr., was born in Chambers County. In the 1850 Butler County, AL census, they are all in Butler County, AL. Therefore, I am getting on this list because I feel that Chambers County is where they lived before moving on to Butler County, AL. Since Emeline was born in Chambers County, and her elder brother Cleton was born first, I am inclined to believe that he may have possibly been born there as well. I wonder if any f the other children were born there. I do not have access to the census online. Is or was there an 1840 census taken? If so, would someone be able to check and see if this family is in Chambers County in 1840? So, is there or are there any JACKSONS on this list, or is there anyone on this list who may have them or their families in your records?? I am looking forward to hearing from you. Sincerest Thanks, Linda (Jackson) Kyle

Shreve, 77 aged citizen and farmer of Andaluisa Rt. B, residing three miles from Andalusia, died at his home at 2 o’clock this morning with his widow and several of his children by his side. Funeral services, originally announced for this afternoon have been arranged and will be held Sunday afternoon at 3 o’clock from his residence, after which burial will be made at Andalusia cemetery. The deceased removed here a number of years ago from Butler County and has been a successful farmer of the county during this time in which he has endeared himself to a whole circle of friends who will learn of his death this morning with sincere sorrow. He was a devout member of the Primitive Baptist church. Aside from his widow, his second wife, Mr. Shreve is survived by eleven children. Messrs Joseph Edward Shreve, James William and Reuben Shreve of Andalusia; Mrs. Anna Richards of Andalusia, Mrs. Ellen Heath of Milton, Fla., Mrs. Leonora Bell of Oakey Streak, George H. Shreve and Hilliard Shreve of Los Angeles, Cal., and Jesse, Archie, and Dan Shreve of San Diego, California. Mr. Shreve has always been a loyal and progressive citizen a loyal devoted husband and father, and because of big usefulness and his many contributions to his community, he will be greatly missed. He became critically ill some weeks ago, and his life was despaired at that time but rallying, he lingered until an early hour today. Funeral arrangements were changed so that relatives from a distance would be able to attend. W. C. Shreve In the death of W. C. Shreve, pioneer citizen of Andalusia, this community sustains a distinct loss. Mr. Shreve has contributed much to the material progress of this section. He was an advocate of the simple life but he was never-the-less alive to the highest interest this whole county and section for he was a firm believer and a booster for this section. We are prone to overlook the debt of gratitude which this generation owes to the stout hearted men who a half-century ago came in this county and carved out of the pine forest the homes, the schools, the churches which laid the foundation upon which we are now building. Mr. Shreve as one of those pioneers, has ever been held in high esteem by all who knew him. He was a member of the Primitive Baptist church and lived the exemplary life which characterizes the faithful members of this church. As citizen, husband, father, neighbor and friend he was alike loved and honored. Obituary of Deacon William Clement Shreve Deacon W. C. Shreve was born in Chambers County, Ala. 9 September 1847. When a young man he moved to Oakey Streak, Butler County, Alabama. He was first married to Miss. Nancy Elizabeth Stallings, shortly after the close of the Civil War. To this union were born several children. Brother Shreve’s first wife having died, he was again married to Miss. Laura Jernigan, who with several children by his first wife remain to mourn their loss. Deacon Shreve received a hope in Christ and joined the church at Consolation, September 6, 1879 and was baptized by Elder R. S. Hughes. Brother Shreve was chosen clerk of the church June 1893, and ordained a Deacon June 2, 1894 by the following presbytery: Elder R. S. Hughes, Elder Y. E. Hughes and Elder R. Butler; and Deacons W. P. Spears and W. A. Wiggins. Brother Shreve having moved to Andalusia, Ala. he called for and was granted a letter of dismission, August 1, 1914 and was later a member of Bethel church, from whence he moved his membership to Union church and was a charter member of said Union church, and where his membership remained until he was called to the eternal realm above on March 29, 1924. Brother Shreve was a true Old Baptist and lived a life worthy of emulation by the rising generation. His body was laid to rest in the cemetery at Andalusia, Ala., March 30, 1924. Funeral services were conducted by Elders A. H. Henderson and A. J. Parrish. I would say to the beloved family we have every evidence to believe that your loved one is at rest. -L. A. 3. I am sure these families are related. Possibly Wealthy Caroline's father was a brother or cousin to Sherwood. From the name "DISON" in your records, I believe this woman is the person I have as Caroline Ginn, daughter of Joshua Ginn and Nancy Statham. Caroline was born abt 1828 in GA, married to Daniel C. Deason 26 Dec.1844 in Coosa County, Alabama. This is the 1850 census for them: 1850 First Ward City of Wetumpka 13 September 1850 387. Deason Daniel 24 NC farmer 100 Caroline 22 GA Frances 5 AL Jane 3 AL Martha 2 AL James 4/12 AL I had never been able to find them after 1850, but now I see that it is probably because Daniel died and she remarried Timothy Reardon. Thank you for this clue! Now I can look for the Reardon family.
