Hi Janet, I'm also researching, Chambers County,AL for my gr gr grandfather Nicholas Briskey/Brisky. And in my researching I found a great book called Heritage of Chambers County,AL by Heritage Publishing Co. And in this book in the index listing are many pages of Wallace family members. You'll find many families migrated around 1830's because of land grants and land lottery available to them. Many first around SC and GA and then Chambers County,AL. I have found many decendents of these families for others in this book. You maybe able to obtain a copy through inner library loan dept at your local library usually a free service. It was printed in 1999 and decendents who sent the articles their names and addresses appear for contact. Valley Library in Valley Al also has the historial society for the county. And great resources. Also get a book called "Reason for the Tears" by Bobby Lindsey through library fantastic resources. In GA you can get a 1832 Gold Lottery Book and chuck full of hundreds of names, and has info also. On page 291 of the Heritage book is Hugh Wallce soldier in the Revolution of NewBerry district SC. If you email me seperately I and mention Wallace and Heritage Book, I can send you additional information. I'm hoping someone can point me in the right direction. I'm looking for Jesse W. Wallace. Born 1826 in Georgia. Probably raised in Alabama. He was married to Catharine Wilkins in Chambers County in 1845. In 1850 they were in Randolph County. I believe he died between 1850 and 1852. Here is my problem. I can't find anything more on Jesse. There isn't a will. No probate. The land records don't tell me anything. I don't know were to look. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks in advance, Janet JBird411@earthlink.net

Hello, i'm also researching my gr gr grandfather Nicholas Briskey/brisky. And in my researching I found a book called Heritage of Chambers County,AL, by heritage Publishing co, and in this books index Holt is listed on two pages Page 60,296. Page 60 deals with the churchs in the area. And Allen family and Alsobrook family. Probably marriages. Page 269 deals with it looks like marriages into the Stanley and Stephens families. What is nice about this book is the names and addresses of the person who wrote the article are there to contact. It might be worth a trip to your local library and ask if they can order a copy to look at through their inner library loan dept. It's usually free. And Valley,AL library is the home of the historical society. Wonderful books. Also, lafayette,AL court house is where records are kept. Our research is in the southern Holts and I can't find my Perry Holt born 1820 with parents anywhere. However I have always thought he was a son of John who had a wife Michael/ Mitchell (given name not surname)(?) as Perry administered John's will, but Perry was not named in it so still have a question regarding it. I do know that John and James Holt were probably brothers as they came into SC then Georgia then AL with their families and Perry was in the area. They all hit the Chambers Co., AL census together in 1840. However many books written early on (Spivey's books) don't name him. However when you look at the film he is definitely there. There is a lesson to be learned here<VBG>. Are there any Holt researchers out there working on these families besides me? They may be of Indian ancestry. Perry eventually died in Elmore Co., AL and I found that his wife Surrina(Cerena) Arant died in a flood in Alabama. He had 11 children that we know of. Hi Sandel, Do you know if it is a book that they sell? I will check into my own library here, but they are so odd about inter library loans. They sorta have this thing I think that they have to invest money and they don't want to do that!! I still will check, though. I would love to see those Jackson Entries. Thanks for letting me know. I so need to find some connections because I so sure that since the two older children of William Jackson were born in Chambers County, there must be more. I am also thinking that maybe William's brother was also... just a hunch....Thanks so much..
