Again maybe able to obtain a copy by going to your local library through inner library loan dept. Also a good book is "Reason for the Tears" By Bobby Lindsey chuck full of good info. Valley Library in Valley Alabama has the historical society for the area. Great resource. Also Lafayette Court House, City Clerks office is where most records are, Lafayette AL. Might be worth a trip to your local library and see if they can obtain a copy to look at through inner library loan dept. Printed in 1999. Valley Library, Valley Alabama is home of the historical society for chambers. And also a book by bobby lindsey "Reason for the tears" has a lot of great info. Also out of print and can get through inner library loan. Great resource is your local library. Here they are: Eli Welch (sometimes spelled Welsh), born 1812, SC (maybe Chesterfield) Sarah Ann HUDMAN Welch, born 1819, Henry County, GA They married in August 1838 in Chambers County, AL and LOTS of Eli's brothers moved from SC to Chambers County, AL and lived there several years. Garrett HUDMAN is father of Sarah Ann HUDMAN Welch. Eli and siblings: Robert (b. 1808, SC) Eli (b. 1812, SC) Henry (b. 1813, SC) William (b. 1815, SC) George Howell WELSH, (b. 1816, SC) John, (b. 1817, SC) Nicholas (b. 1817-1818, SC) James P. (1819, SC) James B. (b. 1820, GA) Elizabeth (b. 1827, GA - m. A. WATERS, b. GA) All mostly went by Welch but George Howell went by Welsh and he and his family are buried with Welsh - later descendants also changed to Welch.
