I research the "HOPE" family in Etowah Co. AL. My GGGrandfather Caleb Hope sold a horse to a Jim Crow on 27 day of April 1872 in Etowah Co. AL...the domain of Gadsden...I just happened to remember the name because the bill of sale was so hard to read. This is recorded at Etowah - page 80 of above dates....
