Can anyone suggest any resources in Calhoun County concerning an adoption of an orphaned child by a family member in this county sometime after 1880? My great-grandfather was apparently born a Trammell and adopted by a family member with the surname of White (exact relationship unknown) after the death of his parents. I would like to learn the names of his natural parents, as well as those of his adoptive parents and their relationship to him. Any assistance would be greatly appreciated.
