Seeking information on Emanuel EBERHART/EVERHART who settled in Benton Co. Alabama about 1838. He was on 1844 tax list there and married Rachel MONTGOMERY daughter of William MONTGOMERY and Sarah STEELE in 1846. Emanuel Everhart and the Montgomery family came to Grayson County Texas about 1848. Are there any records available relating to the purchase and sales of slaves during this time period? Our local libraries have practically no records of Calhoun/Benton Co. Alabama. Any info very much appreciated. Mike & June
