Martin Van Buren Hammond b 6/3/1937 in Campbell County, GA(what county is this now?). He married Dicie Carolina East on 10/21/1859 probably in AL. Dicie is the daughter of Daniel Elijah East and Betsey Ann Eubanks. Martin and Dicie are listed on the 1860 Randolph County, AL census. Martin died in Piedmont, Calhoun County, AL on 7/24/1915. Dicie died in Piedmont, Calhoun County, AL on 9/8/1906. They following is their children: Elizabeth Ann Hammond m. Unknown in 1878 William Thomas "Tom" Hammond m. Josephine Ripley on 8/21/1886 Daniel L. Hammond m. Alice Griffin on 12/27/1897 John Hiram Hammond m. Josephine Kernon in 1899 Alexander Hammond m. May Hall in 12/1/1895 Mary Francis Hammond m. Arthur Stevenson on 8/22/1898 This family mainly stayed in the Calhoun area. Elizabeth died in Cleburne County, AL. John died in Anniston. Tom was the only one to my knowledge that moved out of state. He moved to Arkansas, I believe after a run in with the law. Once again, I would appreciate any leads. Thanks, Janna Ash
