The four families of Allgood, Bynum, Cornelius, and Murphree were among the early settlers of Blount County, AL. Several branches of these families moved into other counties in northern and central Alabama, and some migrated west as more territories became states. Descendants of these families meet annually for a genealogy gathering and family reunion the first weekend in October in Oneonta, Blount County, AL. The descendants also publish a newsletter each March and September containing articles of interest to researchers of these four families, as well as allied families. The cost of the newsletter is $6 per year.
