    2. Looking for any help I can get on these two family lines that lived in a near Calhoun Co. Al. between 1850 and 1890. If any one on this mailing lists has census records or land records or marriage records I would really appreciate a look-up. I am looking for info on my GGrandparents,: ( Parents, siblings, marriages and such). William Ezra Barnett and Mary P Pritchett married in Calhoun or Clay co. about 1868. Mary may have brothers Eli Judson and John Thomas that lived next door to the Barnett's in Clay co in 1880. If you have time please give me a hand on this line. I believe they have just begun filming. It will be a while before the public will be able to view them, but it is on its way. Keitha in AL

    2. Stephen, The probate judge's office is in the Administrative Building at 1702 Noble Street (not at the courthouse). You'll find marriages records from the 1830s on. There is a Tract Record Book there showing earliest land entries. Deeds (beginning after the Civil War) are upstairs--no copy machine up there. Most records are in this room. There are some old loose will downstairs as well as some loose probate records. You might consider going to the public library to the Alabama Room. Practically everything is on microfilm or has been copied by genealogists including nearly all the cemeteries in Calhoun County and surrounding ones. They have a microfilm copying machine that makes good copies. The staff is nice, too. I didn't recognize the name you mentioned, but there could very well be a connection...The Phillips line has been pretty well researched! Is that the only information you have as far as the Phillips are concerned? I will start checking to see if I can find a connection! Tricia

Parents of Green were Elizabeth & James ROAN, who about the same time moved to DeKalb County with another son William Winston.     2. Looking for anyone doing research on these surnames. My ggggreatgrandfather was Robert Alex Roddam and he came to Benton Co. around 1840-50 he was married to Elizabeth Pruitt and then in 1871 in married Nancy Pruitt. Robert A and Elizabeth's oldest son was John Alex Roddam and he married Mary Britt, daughter of Henry Britt and Elizabeth Wilkerson. The daughter of John and Mary Roddam, Sarah Elizabeth married George A. Honeycutt, son of James Honeycutt and ??Phillips. I have some research on all of these lines but the Phillips, if anyone has any of these surnames I would love to talk with you and also share the info I have. Thanks, Judy

There are about 3 different bunches of Allens so far as well as some scattered ones. I have done better on two other branches than I have on mine.
