    3. Hello everyone. This is where things are standing with the POSSIBLE Old Photos Project that was discussed last week. I am glad to see there were sooooo many people interested in seeing a project like this get off the ground. I am not saying I am the one to make it happen, but at this time, I am willing to be the coordinator or mediator of information. This is the summary of e-mails I received and so posted of this project to date: Caring for photos: http://palimpsest.stanford.edu/aic/treasure/photos.html http://archival.gaylord.com/TECHNICA/MARKIN.htm Possible providers for viewing new or existing photos web page: Rootsweb Server - english@c-zone.net www.gentime.com/genealogy/index.html http://drum.ncat.edu/~val/ Present sites with Photos availabel: www.geneagraphx.com/leaves.htm Scanning of photos for printing purposes: jgjones5@fus.net My present suggestions: 1. I believe the service should be coordinated in a way that people will go to STATE/COUNTY/YEAR TIME FRAME/ and SUBJECT MATTER Types of Subject Matter: Military, school, family gatherings, Hard at work photos, surname and holder of Photo and even Special Events for that time era. etc. Sometimes the holder of the photo may be someone your trying to find because your party had a connection with their, etc. I don't believe they should be sorted out by culture. That would make viewing and sorting them VERY DIFFICULT and a lot of work. At this time, before anything else is done, I would like to know those who would be interested in mainting the site for their STATE AND COUNTY. The subject could be decided upon later. Before such a thing could exist, there would need to be great number of people involved. Definitley not someone from every state, but at least a couple from the souther states like GA, FL, ALA, and even a couple that someone could convince us should be done. I appologize for such the long message, but I am doing my best to give thanks to those of you who really were interested in this project and even volunteered to assist. I look to hear from you soon. delbra I look to hear from you soon. delbra
