Sally married Olin SPEED (a mulatto or other mixed lineage), Jan/Feb 1884, in Hannon, Macon Co., AL. She and Olin lived for a time in Hannon, in the community called Speed Chapel, on Speed-owned land; but, she and Olin may have spent some years in Tuskegee. According to one census record, Sally was born in GA... don't know the county. I know that as an adult, when she and Olin weren't getting along, she went to live with her mother (and other relatives?) in Pensacola, FL. It was always said in family lore that Sally was Cherokee, but I believe she may have been Creek. She was a heavy smoker, who died relatively young, probably in Florida. She was brought back to Macon County and is supposedly buried at Fort Hull cemetary in the county. I have not learned anything more about Sally and would love to know who her parents were, her siblings, where she was born or any other information that would help me to learn about this ancestor. Any clues will be greatly appreciated. Annette Researching: HARPER, SPEED, GREEN/GREENE, LENNARD/LEONARD, TARVER, KROUSE, BESTEDA(ER), LANE and a few other allied families, found mostly in AL counties.
