    1. [ALBULLOCK] Newspapers
    2. Hi list, Have been very interested in the posts concerning the old newspapers at the courthouse in Union Springs. I have a couple of questions: How long ago exactly did anyone actually see the stacks of papers on the 3rd floor, and secondly, has anyone checked the present newspaper office to see if they have any of these papers or if they are all in the courthouse? My reasons for these questions are also twofold: We visited the courthouse about a year and a half ago and were told that all the old records of any kind had been turned over to the Historical Society (located next door to the present newspaper.) Turned out the Historical Society only had their mail delivered there, it is actually occupied by the C of C, and they could give us no further info on where to look for records. The newspaper office was closed on 3 separate visits. We were looking for copies of a newspaper called The Prohibitionist. If anyone has any later information on either newspapers or court records would love to hear from you. The only thing we were shown were the marriage records, which were still in the courthouse. Thanks to all of you, Evelyn Leslie
