    3. I am pretty sure you can go to any health department in the state and obtain a birth or death certificate for $12.00. They fax them from Montgomery to the health dept. in the county. Of course you have to be in the state to do this. All you have to do is list how you are related to you or you are doing it for genealogical purposes. You need to know the approx. date of birth or death.
