In an earlier post by Ron Head, he mentioned the town of Fitzpatrick. I was not familiar with it and would like to know if anyone knows anything of the history of Fitzpatrick - was it named for a family by that name and, if so, does anyone have any information about the family? My reason for asking: We are looking for information on Catherine Leslie born about 1847 in Union Springs. The granddaughter of her brother, Alexander Leslie born 1845 Union Springs, who is now in her 70's, told me recently that her grandfather Alexander used to get letters from a lady named "Fitz-something" from Alabama, and she thought this lady was his sister. Alexander was a drummerboy in the Civil War and moved to Morrisonville, Illinois around 1867, after the war's end. We have been able to locate all of our Leslies from Union Springs with the exception of Catherine and are trying to find any information on her. Perhaps the "Fitz-something" was Fitzpatrick? Thanks!
