CARRIE THOMAS, I WAS TRYING TO LET YOU KNOW ABOUT THE CONNECTION THAT WE SEEM TO HAVE. DO YOU KNOW IF YOUR THOMAS' CAME FROM SCOTLAND? I HAVE BEEN LOOKING INTO OUR WILKERSON LINE . WHEN I FOUND A 1880 ARK. CENSUS, I FOUND MY G-GRANDFATHER AND HIS MOTHER. THEY LISTED HIS FATHER BORN IN SCOTLAND, HIS MOTHER BORN IN N.C. HE WAS BORN IN ALABAMA. WE KNEW FROM FAMILY STORIES THAT THEY WENT TO ARK. FROM UNION SPRINGS, ALA. WELL WHEN I GOT TO CHECKING, I FOUND THAT THERE WAS A VERY LARGE SCOTISH POPULATION IN THIS AREA AT THE TIME THEY STILL LIVED THERE. THE NAME OF THE COMMUNITIES IS EVIDENCE OT THIS. THERE IS SCOTLAND, PEROTE, ABERFOIL, INVERNESS. MY DAUGHTER AND I WENT TO UNION SPRINGS LAST MONTH, WE FOUND NOTHING TO HELP OUR RESEARCH, BUT WE WERE TOLD THATY THE BULLOCK CO. COURTHOUSE WAS WHERE WE SHOULD HAVE GONE AND WE WENT TO PIKE CO. NOW WE KNOW. WE PLAN TO GO BACK. IT IS ABOUT 2 HRS. FROM ME. I TOO AM A ARKANSAS NATIVE. IWAS RAISED IN THE SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA, BUT MY MOM LIVES IN CROSSETT ARK. NOW. IT IS IN ASHLEY CO. WHICH IS IN THE SOUTHEAST CORNER. MY MOM LIVES 9 MI. FROM LA. AND ABOUT 40 MI. FROM MISS. LINE, IT SEEMS THAT A LARGE NUMBER OF THE SCOTISH PEOPLE IMMIGRATED TO SOUTH ARK. THE ONES THAT WENT WITH THE WILKERSONS' WERE, MC MILLAN, SMITH, MCKINNON, GRISWOLD. THERE ARE LOTS OF CEMETERY RECORDS IN THIS SITE. I'M SURE YOU HAVE CHECKED THEM. THE PEOPLE OF BULLOCK CO. ARE SO NICE. ALSO THE LIBRARY GENEALOGY STAFF OF PIKE CO. I HOPE YOU GET THERE, I DON'T THINK YOU 'LL BE SORRY. IF I KNEW MORE ABOUT ALL THIS I WOULD BE GLAD TO LOOK IT UP FOR YOU. I AM SO NEW AT THIS, I AM NOT ALL THAT SUCESSFUL!!!! I WOULD BE GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU OFF THIS SITE. IF YOU WANT TO GET ME PRIVATLY MY EMAIL ADDRESS IS rjones@hopper.net.WE HAVE A PRETTY GOOD GEN. DEPT I COULD LOOK UP STUFF FOR YOU ALBULLOC-D-request@rootsweb.com wrote: > Subject: > > ALBULLOC-D Digest Volume 00 : Issue 31 > > Today's Topics: > #1 [ALBULLOCK] Re: RJones-location in ["Carrie Dominguez" <carrie_d63@hot] > #2 [ALBULLOCK] THOMAS Lines NC>SC>AL [Carrie Thomas-Dominguez <carried@s] > #3 [ALBULLOCK] Williams, Bryant [Myrinez Sasser <myrinez@yahoo.com>] > > Administrivia: > To unsubscribe from ALBULLOC-D, send a message to > > ALBULLOC-D-request@rootsweb.com > > that contains in the body of the message the command > > unsubscribe > > and no other text.
