Posted on: Bullock County, Al Query Forum Reply Here: http://cgi.rootsweb.com/~genbbs/genbbs.cgi/USA/Al/Bullock/314 Surname: McLean, Hufham, Segrest, Carmichael ------------------------- I am trying to find Information on Dr. N. B. McLean(Neal Bethune, we think). He was married to Sarah Carmichael, daughter of Malcolm M. and Nancy Oswalt Carmichael of Chesson or Cross Keys, Al (Macon County). Dr. McLean died sometime in the months just before my husband's grandmother, Nancy (Nannie) Neal McLean (later to be Mrs. W.P. Hufham of Fitzpatrick, Al.--Bullock County) was born on 2-14-1864. We can find no information about him except that we have his diploma showing that he received his medical degree from the Univ. of Nashville (later to be the Univ. of Tenn.) in 1859. Since he died either in late 1863 or early 1864, it seems a good possibility that he died in the Civil War, but we can find no record of that. The newspaper write-up of Nancy McLean Hufham's funeral refers to her father as the late Dr. Neal McLean of Perote, Al. (now in Bullock County, but then in Pike County). Sarah Carmichael McLean's second husband was Peter Reuben Segrest, whom she married in 1866. Thanks for any help.
