She died Tuesday, Feb. 29, 2000 at Central Alabama Veteran Heatlh Care System (CAVHCS). The funeral was Monday, March 6 from House of Prayer with Rev. Arthur Robinson officiating. CALDWELL, Charley, age 102, a resident of Tuskegee, died Monday, March 6, 2000 in Tuskegee VA Hospital. He served in WWI and received a Purple Heart and a Medal of Honor from the French Government. The funeral was Monday, March 13 from Burton's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Willie Adams officiating. Burton's Funeral Home staff directed. Survivors include his wife, Evelina Caldwell, seven children, Malinda (Mark Earl) Borden, Brooklyn, NY; Christopher (Sybil) Caldwell, Carl Caldwell and Willie (Barbara) Caldwell, all of Tuskegee; Lorette Robinson, Eula (Bennie) Adams and Charlie (Evonne) Caldwell, all of Youngstown, OH; two sisters, Mahalia Gordon, Tuscaloosa, and Jessie Caldwell, Mississippi; two grandchildren, Marvin Howard and Aneisha Howard, both of Tuskegee, 17 other grandchildren; 13 g-grandchildren; two gg-grandchildren and a host of relatives and friends. DANIEL, James, a resident of Tallassee, died Thursday, Feb. 28, 2000. The funeral was Friday, March 3, from McKenzie's Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. John Andrews officiating. Burial was in Sweet Canaan Cemetery. McKenzie's Funeral Home staff directed. His survivors include two daughters, Carol (Eddie, Sr.) Thomas, Shorter and Pamela Daniel, Tallassee; one sister, Gloria (Willie) Johnson, Tallassee, three brothers; Joseph (Virginia) Daniel, Tuskegee; Robert (Geraldine) Daniel, Tallassee, and Lester Hicks, Jr. Cleveland, OH; five grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
