He is buried in the Indian Creek Cemetery just north of Smuteye.

Go to alabamamaps.ua.edu in the historical maps section to see. The land my Cook ancestors settled on the Pea River due east of the Josie Community. The land was located both on the Barbour and Bullock County Side and is where AL Route 239 crosses the Pea River just NW of Clayton. There was a "Cooks Ford" bridge there in the early 20th century. I was looking for cemetaries in the area that my Ancestor, John Thomas Cook, who died in 1858, might be buried.

Is Powells Church still in existence? Is there a cemetary there? Any info on Phillips Schools available? I am researching the Cooks that settled there around 1840. They had some land that crossed both Counties on the Pea River at that time. Thanks

My ggrandmother Anna Rouse b: July 1892 d: abt 6 Feb 1912. Married Frank Underwood b: abt 1889 on 24 Dec 1908. Her parents were Sam Rouse b: Dec 1863 and Katie(last name unknown)b: May 1867 in Alabama. Her siblings were: Prince b: July 1885, Lilla B b: June 1886, Curry or Carry b: Dec 1890, Sam b: Jan 1895, Sarah A b: Feb 1896, Bennie N b: Jan 1897, Lee O b: Oct 1897 and Mabel Lee b: Jan 1900. She didn't die giving birth, she died of having the Measles, according to the death certificate I have. Othere Rouses include: Jessie Mae Rouse married to one J.D. Scott. There child was: Minnie Belle Scott b: Jan 1921 in Inverness, Alabama. Hood Rouse and Laurah Rouse; According to census records for Hood and his wife, didn't see any children present. Clinton Rouse and Ruth Bethune: They had a boy child b: 7 Nov 1927 in Inverness, Alabama, his name is unknown at this time. If any of the names are familiar to anyone. Born abt 1821-22 in Georgia. Do not know her maiden name.She married a CARR and she is found on 1850 Pike Co. Ala. Census..She does not have husband..Probably died very recently...She has seven children, the youngest 2 mos. old. Found that she married Lamb PARKER on 24 Nov 1859......... Obviously a wrong choice as Caroline puts in for divorce in Sept. 1860....Found her on 1870 Bullock Co., Ala. Census. She is living with daughter Amanda Stephens and her husband Henry Stephens....Strongly believe Caroline CARR PARKER is buried in Bullock County...May be buried under PARKER Name, but I doubt it....Has to be CARR....I accept ANY and ALL help...BIG or Small...Doesn't matter! I want to find this Lady..........
