Hello: I'm looking for information on the decendants of : Daniel Graham 1775 - 1845 Nancy (wife) Children: Catherine (married Samuel Nixon) Nancy II (married Neil Waterson) Christian Archibald Duncan Neal Daniel, Jr. This family may have lived in Hardaway Macon County before Bullock County was established. I know that they had slaves and I would like to know exactly where. Especially interested in Neal Graham. The Graham decendants may be able to help me locate information on a slave named Frances Smith. She lived in Thompson after slavery was ended. I don't know if Smith was her named during slavery or if she later married someone named Smith. I know she had a son named Phillip. I would appreciate any information or suggestions. JoAnn
Hi everyone! I've been gone from the lists for a long time and wondered if there was anyone researching the surname RICHARDSON. In particular, I'm trying to find Thomas Richardson born 1816. Family says he was born in Charleston, SC, but we've never been able to find him there, even with 2 professional researchers. Other family members insist he was born in SC but lived in Alabama most of his life. I found him in Trinity County, TX in 1853 where he finally decided to stay put and stop wandering around. He may have even changed his name to Watson (first or last name?) according to history passed down from older family members that knew him. Apparently he got into some trouble in "Old Sumpter" and made a run for it..... May have male family members named James, John or even Jacob or Francis... just a hunch on my part though. I sincerely appreciate any help at all with this guy. Amy McCroskie
I just wanted to thank everyone who were so kind to tell me the location of Mt. Zion and Sardis cemeteries. Thank you very much, Ron. One of my Cogdell's is married to a GRIDER. William Ross Cogdell, b. 4-17-1842 - d. 11-06-1948 married to Mattie "Millie" Grider. I have no dates on her or where she is buried. Do you know anything about her, and if they had children? I have that they had two boys, but don't know if this is correct. He is buried at Mt. Zion. I'm not researching Grider, but would like info on this family and who Mattie's, parents, children and siblings were. Wiliam Ross Cogdell was the brother of my great great grandmother, Josephine Cogdell Bradberry, married to John Calhoun Bradberry. Also, I am looking for a complete listing of that entire cemetery. Sardis Baptist Church and cemetery are located on Hwy 223 out of Union Springs (headed toward Troy) approximately 10 miles on the left. It is a white frame building and sits at an angle facing 223 and the paved road that turns in front of it. The cemetery gate is on that paved road at the left side (facing church.) Actually, this is the "white" church and cemetery. You will pass a red brick Sardis Baptist Church & cemetery before you get to that one which is the "colored" church. Both are very historic to the area. Evelyn
Greetings: I would also like to know the whereabouts of Mt. Zion and Sardis cemetaries. Is this Mt. Zion cemetary the same one that is located in the rear of Mt. Zion Baptist Church? ODrakel Researching: McGrady, Drake, Hall, Cofield, Bird, Thornton, Blue, Pugh, and Penn

Hi There Fellow Listers - Wondering if the query sent out by JoAnn on THOMPSON PLANTATION has anything to do with one of my ancestors - SARA THOMPSON (1831 - 1899) who married JAMES MCANDREW (1822 - 1897) in 1848 in Macon Co., AL. I believe SARA THOMPSON's parents to be: WILLIAM THOMPSON and ELIZABETH RANKEN, but know nothing about them - other than they were from Ayrshire, Scotland and settled in the Macon - Bullock area. I beleive they had another child H.C. THOMPSON (1835 - 1887). Any relation to this THOMPSON PLANTATION or any other THOMPSON's out there? Would LOVE to share info on these people! Thanks so much for your time.
